No matter what your personal lifestyle, a natural look will fit into it, and make your everyday hair care and beauty routine much easier. Natural styles are ideal for those who want to grow out damaged tresses, or who have been wearing relaxed looks for years, and are ready for a change. There is a lot to think about before making the switch…if you don’t know what to expect, we are always here to help!
New Perspectives Once you have given consideration to how you view your own beauty, first in self-image, as well as how you wear your hair, you come into a world of new possibilities. From my experience as a naturalist, the transition from relaxed hair to natural is more often met with hesitation and anxiety. Be aware that some cosmetologists will not be able to help make these changes, because there is no formal training in natural hair care techniques. To begin with, you should search for a natural hair stylist, as they will guide you through the process, answer all of your questions, and help you keep your look well-defined. Word-of-mouth Referrals:
If more than one person really recommends a certain naturalist chances are you should check it out immediately! Online websites: See which natural hair care salons are available in your area, if any. Consulations: If you visit with a naturalist, and you come away with a negative impression, for whatever reason, don’t go back! You need a stylist you will trust implicitly with your hair. Once you have made the choice to style and groom your hair without chemicals, the transition to natural hair has begun. You will notice that your new growth has a decidedly different texture than the relaxed or damaged portions of your tresses. Discuss your career, lifestyle and image choices with your stylist to determine which natural options are best for you: barbering, weaving, braiding, twists or locks. Your hairstyle is determined by you and your needs not the standards of society. Take the responsibility for your reality and your ultimate happiness! |
